When the DWX723 came out, I knew I had to have it. The improvements over the old stand are very much appreciated. The majority of the stand is an engineered extruded aluminum section so it's lightweight, doesn't twist, and takes an impressive amount of abuse. My miter saw and stand have been caught in downpours and I don't have to worry about rust or jammed parts. There are no small shear pins or hydraulic rams to worry about. The yellow leg brackets are made of steel and provide the lateral rigidity for the stand. The legs have captive rubber foot covers so that they don't come off in the dirt or when moving from your truck to the worksite. The legs now have a handle you can squeeze to disengage the ball lock, similar to the rolling stand for the dewalt mini table saws...no more pinched thumbs. The extensions lock down with an improved camlock lever handle in one direction now. Improved wider base material supports are great for anything wider than a 2x10. The whole stand in the collapsed position is well balanced and the rounded carry handle on the bottom is comfortable. There's also a t-track on the bottom which I use to mount a GFCI surge strip. The quick release mounts and hardware are included for whatever you decide to put on this stand. All the accessories available on the DWX723 are compatible with the DW723. The end caps on the extensions could be designed a little bit wider and a little bit taller so that the material support bases engage more positively and this would allow the extension arms pull into the body more...we're talking only 1/16" to 1/8". I'm still a huge fan of Dewalt.5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. If you are serious about precision miteringBy James W. Ross MDA long, level support is essential if you are mitering or compound mitering long stock. This is an excellent solution. It holds the saw square and level while allowing ample room to work on long pieces. Totally extended it is almost 24 feet long. The saw locks on tightly. In fact requires two different squeezes on the clamps to unlock it.The legs are wide and stable. It includes to material rests with stops, one for each end. Also includes mounting brackets for the miter saw, with quick release clamps on each side. And there is a carrying handle on the bottom of the unit.Overall, a little pricey, but worth it!3 of 3 people found the following review helpful.Easy to use and good working heightBy Danny CreechI've had this for a couple of months and I really like it. I'm retired now but I like to stay busy. Where were all these great tools years ago when we were all still working? I'm doing a remodle on my father in laws place with lots of molding and floor installation. This stand is just the right height for me, I'm 6'2" tall. My father in law, who is 89, is 5' 10" and he says it's just the right height for him too, go figure? It is very stable and accomidates my 12" Porter Cable chop saw. The saw fit on the brackets that attache to the saw just fine but the adjustable height pieces on the end of the extension arms were not quite wide enough to support narrow boards when stood flat against the fense so I attached a couple of 10" pieces of 3/4" X 2" cherry scraps on the top and all is just right now. Compared to my old wooden stand of 35 year ventage, this stand is very light and easy to set up. I really like the ball latches for the legs and the compression locks for the extension arms. All the handles are nice and big which makes them easy to use for older hands. I'd really recommend this to anyone who likes easy set ups and a really well made tool.See all 23 customer reviews...
