DEWALT’s DCH213L2 20-volt max lithium-ion SDS rotary hammer kit comes equipped with patented technology and innovative features that make it ideal for professionals who have been tasked with mechanical, electrical, and maintenance applications as well as those working on commercial installation, concrete forming, and HVAC systems projects.DCH213L2 20-Volt MaxSDS Rotary Hammer KitAt a Glance:SHOCKS active vibration control reduces vibration and increases user comfort and productivityCompact L-shape design allows access in tight spaces while providing optimal balanceLED work light provides increased visibility in confined spacesHammer comes with 3-year limited warranty, 1-year free service contract, and 90-day money-back guaranteeDEWALT's 20-volt max SDS rotary hammer offers 1.7 foot-pounds of impact energy for corded power without the cord (view larger.)Power and PerformanceThe DCH213L2 SDS rotary hammer was designed to demonstrate improved performance when compared with existing offerings on the market, and with a 20-volt max lithium-ion battery, it can drill up to 20 percent more holes per charge. It offers three modes: drilling, hammer drilling, and chiseling. In addition to leading battery life and function, the DCH213L2 delivers ample power to complete many applications where users would rely on a corded rotary hammer—with 0-1,000 RPM and 0-4,100 BPM, this rotary hammer allows for maximum drilling speed and number of holes per battery charge. Its 1.7 foot-pounds of impact energy provide corded power without the cord, and its factory-set clutch reduces sudden, high-torque reactions if bit jams.Comfort and ConvenienceThis SDS rotary hammer features DEWALT SHOCKS active vibration control through an internal suspended mechanism, which reduces user fatigue for comfort and productivity. Weighing 6.4 pounds and measuring 10.5 inches front to back, it’s also compact in size, which is ideal for overhead use and applications in tight spaces. To further address user comfort, the weight of the new rotary hammer is well balanced in the center of the tool as opposed to the front end. This feature, coupled with a new slide-on battery pack, allows for a slimmer, more ergonomic design. Additionally, DEWALT-designed electronics are built into the switch, providing maximum life for the hammer and batteries by helping to protect them from overheating, overloading, and deep discharge during use. The included charger has dual-voltage capabilities, and it is compatible with 12-volt max and 20-volt max DEWALT lithium-ion batteries.About DEWALT's 20-Volt Max Lithium-Ion ToolsDEWALT’s line of 20-volt max lithium-ion tools features improvements in engineering and design to provide the performance, the ergonomics, and the innovation that contractors require. I already have a corded hammer drill, and I install commercial doors, windows and frames. When I am on a long-term install, I will be using a corded SDS drill, but I also do service, and small jobs. Too many times to count, I have needed a 1/4 inch hole and a plastic anchor to hold a frame in place, or a threshold, and only need 4 holes, and as you all are very familiar, a drill with a hammering feature (non SDS) hardly EVER works on concrete, and if it does, you just burned up at least one bit on one hole. The day I received this kit, I opened the box and put the batteries on an extended charge, first. While they were charging, I went a got a 1/4 inch SDS bit, and a small SDS chisel, and a granite rock. I've drilled granite for frames, and it is hard to drill, and is hard to chip. For 15 minutes, I drilled holes and chipped to my hearts content. The power is unexpected and in trying to kill the battery, I did not. The MAIN reason I bought this is for the CHIPPING FEATURE. You can't find another manufacturer in the 18 volt class with the chipping feature (that means hammering without turning. Many many times I have needed to chip away just a bit of rock hindering the installation of an aluminum frame or threshold and have to break-out the cord. I prefer not to use cords unless absolutely necessary. Two main reasons: 1) Someone is going to pinch your cord; 2) Someone is going to get tangled in the cord (probably you.)This unit has no problem drilling holes. Holes it was designed to be drilling... I have drilled a 1 inch hole through 4 inches of concrete, and it works great, but the is NOT what it was designed for. Really it is for drilling anchor holes up to 5/8 inch all day, and chipping away anomalies such as rock, concrete and pesky screws. It is VERY compact and agile enough to drill holes in concrete while you are 10 feet up a ladder installing a window frame, without worrying about someone yanking you off the ladder with a tangled cord. Also, I have been getting RAVE comments on it. It is the talk of the company, and I plan on using the hell out of it. I will update in one year: Sept 2012.Cons: NO BELT HOOK!!! and no BARE TOOLS offered. I don't need 88 batteries for 5 tools, and I DON'T use cases. I USE tools that's why they make the Husky rolling bag.See all 1 customer reviews...
