I just used one for the first time yesterday. These packs are much more powerful, and run much longer than any other pack I've ever used. I spent the day replacing 120 batteries in a large Uninterruptible Power System, using a Dewalt drill to remove and replace all the battery hardware, and the associated hardware holding the batteries in the shelves. I made it through the ENTIRE job on one 14.4 volt battery. I'm impressed. The only negative, if there is one, is the price of over $100, which is double what the NiCd batteries used to be. I suspect a large part of that price has something to do with the statement on the package that says the "cost of recycling" has been included in the price. I'm not sure I really understand that, but if I had to guess, I'd say it's probably the result of some new government regulation. Regardless, the bottom line is that even though these batteries are expensive, if you want a battery that cranks out the power, and does it for a long time, these are great. What remains to be seen is how well they hold up over time. I'll be very curious to see how many cycles I get out of it. That will be material for another review at a later date. This pack came paired with a charger that will charge these packs, and all the older packs as well. It worked perfectly, and is of the same great quality that I've come to expect from all of my Dewalt tools. It should be noted that the older charges will NOT charge the new LiOn batteries, so now I have three of the older chargers to find a use for or get rid of ...See all 1 customer reviews...
