Everyone in heavy timber and framing carpentry knows that the 22 and 28oz Estwing's with the waffle face are the industry standard. I decided to give this thing a chance after seeing 2 guys i work with use it and say nothing but good things about it. I've been using a 22oz Estwing for a couple years now and this thing is just far and away BETTER IN EVERY WAY! It swings like a 28oz according to the the little pamphlet it comes with but it is less weight, less vibration, less swings, than any 28oz or 22oz Estwing i have ever used. The handle is better (tapered at the end), it looks cooler, and it swings BETTER bc of the less weight and excellent balance. It comes with a magnetic nail starter for those hard to reach spots and it actually works with single and double headed nails! This is modern hammer technology at it's best. Cheap and useful. Titanium hammers are too expensive, this is construction, we're not building grand pianos and i'm never going to spend $200 on something that gets as much abuse as a hammer does in my profession. This Dewalt should become the new industry standard framing hammer because it really is better in every way than the Estwings and it comes with a lifetime warranty. After using this hammer for one week the difference is amazing. I'm a general contractor and I've tried the titanium hammers before but they were just too expensive for me. When I saw this hammer at the same weight as titanium hammers at only a fraction of the cost, I had to try it. I spent only $60 for this hammer, which is about $150 cheaper than titanium hammers. Let me tell you.... This hammer is awesome. Feels great, hits great, and seems (so far) to be extremely durable. Another great product by DeWalt!!See all 2 customer reviews...
