It worked flawlessly and I used it with over 100 cases of caulk. That would be over 1200 tubes of caulk. And then it failed. This was on one of my jobs so it did pay for itself in the labor saved in applying the caulking, but I feel it should be robust enough to last a least a couple of jobs. I returned it to Dewalt and they repaired it under warranty, no problem. If you have small projects it will be a real time saver. I do recommend this gun but if your going to be using it in heavy duty situations expect to be replacing it or repairing it every 1000 tubes of caulk.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.Depending on the Job worth every pennyBy ZenReaderThis is an extremely well built caulk gun and has tremendous power. For every day small caulk jobs this is probably overkill. If the job requires several tubes of caulk and a consistant bead then this will do the job. It will also handle those tubes of adhesive which require anywhere from 30-70 pounds of hand pressure on a regular manual gun. Producing an astounding 700lbs of pressure this gun can empty the tube in seconds. There is a dial control on the bottom to slow the rate of despensing. Believe me you'll need it. For me the deciding factor was the despensing of adhesive caulk around a swimming pool. I attempted the first 32 feet with a manual gun and hand power. Over an hour and half later had a pathetic bead in place which was sloppy and inconsistent. I ordered this gun and had a far different result. The space between the coping and concrete had a full consistent bead. (Of course I taped the two sides using Stucco Duct Tape and smoothed the fill with the back side of a spoon to get a smooth concave look.) The controls on this gun are very intuitive. Top trigger releases the plunger so it can be pulled back. Cut caulk tube opening. Use attached rod to perforate the inner liner of the tube. Insert tube of caulk. Adjust fit with manual trigger. Pull lower trigger. Plunger moves forward. Use dial to adjust rate of speed it dispenses. Release plunger trigger and plunger releases and backs off a fraction. You can look at the plunger to tell where you are in consuming the tube of caulk. The metal tube holder can be turned to apply your bead at any angle. (So the battery always hangs down). At the end of the tube the plunger will stop and back off. The unit comes with a battery charger than automatically tops off the battery so you can leave the battery in it for days. Bottom line: Not having to struggle to apply equal pressure is a god send. Being able to dispense 17 tubes of dense adhesive caulk in less than an hour -incredible. Still taking on tough projects as you get older --priceless.Tip. Cut the opening to the tube a size smaller than normal.
