It runs smooth, has a good line of sight, feels well balanced and doesn't bog down on any of the cuts. I also really liked the lower blade guard. It seems to be designed differenty so that it never gets hung up in the material. The case has storage for a couple of blades. I've tried the Porter-Cable, Milwaukee, and Bosch, but this is my favorite.14 of 20 people found the following review helpful. You can't go wrong with this oneBy PubliusThis is a great saw. You won't be disappointed. This isn't a production framing, heavy duty wormdrive saw. Rather this saw is designed to be lightweight and easy to lug around. But make no mistake, it'll get the job done, and it'll last. If DURABILITY and QUALITY are huge issues to you, consider this saw. But, if you are more concerned with the FEELING of 'durability' and 'quality,' go for another. (If you're just looking for a saw the feels heavy, why are you looking at lightweight saws to begin with?). I have owned this saw for 5 years without any problems. I don't use it everyday, but it's been through a lot. I have seen it bounce off the concrete from higher than i care to admit, and I have never had any trouble cutting through anything with it. It's a good saw to have around.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.Best sidewinder I have usedBy Joe the trim guyI'm not particularly a fan of "sidewinder" saws. I much prefer the worm drive skil saw. I got a great deal on this saw, I bought it from a friend who won it as a door prize. I have two other circular saws, a skil worm drive and a milwaukee. The DeWalt is light and well balanced. Although it doesnt have the power of the Skil it never felt under powered. It was a good choice to cut windows into a wall in a board and batten sided house. It was very easy to control, cutting in non-conventional positions. The guard did seem to work well, but I have yet to cut rafters or other angle cuts with it. The saw came with a good hard case. While it wont replace my worm drive it is a very nice saw to have for the times I want something lighter and easier to handle.See all 7 customer reviews...
