There seems to be no memory problems and so far have lasted for many charges. As stated earlier they have a better clip-in system, which is definitely an improve. But to be fair I only had the old XR batteries fall out once. The run time has also improved.I highly suggest upgrading to the XRPs if you only have the old ones. But when purchasing them just buy the 2 pack. For about $20 to $25 more you get the second battery.12 of 14 people found the following review helpful.Dewalt Improves what they innovatedBy greverioAs the cordless tool leader, Dewalt recognized that their first line of 18volt battery pack had faulty clips. With this issue, they improved the design of the clips and boosted the performance of these batteries. Though the sliding battery packs maybe easier to use, it is good to know that Dewalt has not abandoned their design. This drill is still my favorite in performance in what I do.9 of 10 people found the following review helpful.New?By GregI ordered this item from Tool King which we have made several purchases from in the past. They list these batteries as new but "does not come in original package". I had no problem with this until they arrived with a good number of scratches on the bottom of the batteries. It seems to me that that the only way you get deep scratches in the bottom of a battery that only weighs a few ounces is by plugging it into a drill that weighs a few pounds. We called Tool King to complain and after 2 calls they finally agreed to send us another set. The next ones were less scratched, but still show more signs of wear than a brand new product that is only just missing the the package. I know that Tool King sells a lot of refurbished tools, we have bought drills from them in the past and had no problems. The problem here is that they're selling these batteries as new but they're either slightly used from tools that had to be refurbished or very badly mishandled to get such scratches. Again, I have no doubt the first batch they sent had been installed in drills for at least a short period of time, the scratches were just too deep (one even had paint on it from being rubbed against a wall while being used). So far the batteries are working fine, but next time I will only buy batteries that are still in its original packaging. I can't help but wonder if these ones will go dead sooner because they may have been used before we got them. See all 73 customer reviews...
