Delivering solid performance and serious convenience, DeWalt's heavy-duty, 18-volt reciprocating saw offers a keyless blade clamp for quick blade changes, a pivoting shoe with an open top for maximum visibility, a variable-speed trigger for blade control, and an electric brake. This is an accurate tool, and the grips--especially the front one--provide excellent user control. This reciprocating saw will reach up to 2,800 spm, and has a 7/8-inch stroke length. It weighs only 6.5 pounds, and because it's cordless, there simply isn't a better option for working in tight spaces or above your head. I have been doing home improvement projects so the battery life is not any kind of a problem - especially with the DeWalt 1-hour charger. I already had a DeWalt drill that came w/2 batteries and they seemed to last a long time, so I bought this 'bare bones' package. Contractors who would be using this saw for prolonged periods might have a different take on it. For an occasional user, it's a great saw for the money. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.Nice Dewalt UnitBy DesertDogThis is a nice unit and when paired with the new lithium ion batteries (not included), it can help you get those tough jobs done. I also purchase the set of 6 blades (3 metal, 3 wood & metal). I am using it primarily to cut through heavy metal pipe and am very happy with the performance of the unit and the duration of the blades. The unit I received is made in Mexico.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.wow, absolutly brand new, perfect, what a priceBy Last Man Standingi had been looking to buy this tool used. my old (3-4 yrs old) one broke while i was trying to cut 5" branches off a tree. so i had chargers, batteries, etc.(not to mention, 8 other dewalt tools, chargers, and batteries). not only was it hard to find a bare tool used, but when i did, i was looking at $100 or so. this saw could not be more brand new, 100% perfect out of the box, threw my new lith-ion battery in it, and went to work on the same branches that broke my last one. the saw ate though them all, i could not be happier. great saw (to be expected) at a great price.See all 7 customer reviews...
