Just rightBy Adam FelkerI've been looking for a small router for small jobs (mainly routing small roundovers and chamfers) on projects, so that I could leave my big router in the table. Pros:1. Easy to adjust. The adjusting ring moves smoothly and it's easy to get the perfect depth of cut.2. Well built. I prefer the feel of this to the equivalent Porter-Cable model3. Spindle lock! It's nice to not have to mess with two collet wrenches. 4. The LED's are handy for lower-light situations.Cons: 1. Would've been nice if it came with a case.2. Can't change the bit without removing the motor from the base. Not a big deal though, so I'm not even deducting a star.4 of 4 people found the following review helpful.Dewalt DWP611 Compact RouterBy Sue T. EuphratI have been using this router for the past month on almost a daily basis and am very satisfied with its performance. It's not too heavy for the trimming work that I use it for, bits are easy to install and remove, the height adjustment works well for fine-tuning the depth of cut, and the clear base and light really help a lot in seeing exactly what the business-end of the router is doing. It's the first soft-start tool I've owned and in the future I'll never want one without this feature. My only reservation concerns how comfortable this router would be for long sessions of production work. Perhaps it's just what I'm used to from past trimmers or the result of my aging hands, but I think my hand would get fatigued if I used this router for 20-30 minutes It's not as comfortable as some I've used. That said, it's not often that I would use it for long stretches and its other great qualities far outweigh this small complaint. If I had used this router before I bought it, I still would have bought it. Great tool and a good price.5 of 6 people found the following review helpful.Four starsBy DarThis is my first router, and so far, is living up to my expectations. It is a very compact router, about 4" wide at the base. Power is good, and operation is quiet with smooth soft-starting. The variable speed has a larger range than the comparable Bosch Colt. The depth adjustment is a good mechanism, with an adjustable zero and fine adjustment. Bit visibility is good, and there are two LEDs that illuminate the cut. Operation is quiet and smooth. The on-off switch is dust-proof. Cleaning is easy.I would have liked for this router to come with a case of some kind for easy storage. It is also more expensive than the competition, but I feel that it was $150 well spent.See all 5 customer reviews...
