I chose the 14.4V over the 18 because of weight. I have a couple other DeWalt 18V drill/drivers, and they get bulky after a few hours. I end up doing a lot of overhead work, and wanted something lighter. I've had no power complaints. The 14.4v holds a charge real well, and I always keep the spare plugged in waiting for my use. Can get into tight spaces where a regular drill/driver cannot. Provides that extra needed torque. Quick change chuck makes swapping out bits a snap! We love Dewalt products and this impact driver has not let us down. While working on our latest project, I knocked it off a 13 foot pergola and it bounced on the concrete below.
