This DeWalt is clearly built of quality parts. It feels like professional gear in your hand. Unless I got a model that was not balanced properly, the vibration are out of control for a sander of this size. Not surpisingly, the scratch pattern is not good.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful.Excellent Value for Home UseBy Ellis SwearanginIf you're like me and just need some tools for your own personal use, this would be an excellent addition. It takes regular sheet sand paper cut into four. There is a template to poke holes in the paper once it is secured on the bottom plate so that the vacuum dust can collect in the bag or in your shop vac (and it fits my hose). But that is optional, you don't have to poke holes if you don't mind dust. The bag captures about 70% of the dust, and when it is attached to the vac it gets about 85%; so you still need to wear a mask but it makes clean up easier. The vibrations are well within reason. I have used it for about 3 hours with only a few breaks to change paper and clean the bag, and I didn't notice any ill effects in my hand or arm. All in all it does exactly what I need it to do and I am very happy with the purchase. Oh, I should mention that I am smoothing previously painted and patched walls so we can put some semi-gloss enamel-type on the walls. That type of paint really needs to have a smooth, defect free wall otherwise it looks bad.See all 9 customer reviews...
